REUTERS/Piroschka van de Wouw/File PhotoEgypt on Sunday said it will formally join the lawsuit filed by South Africa against Israel at the International Court of Justice which accuses Israel of violating its obligations under the Genocide Convention in the Gaza Strip. On May 10, South Africa submitted an urgent request for the indication of additional provisional measures and the modification of previous provisional measures indicated by the ICJ in the case. South Africa in January asked the World Court to declare that Israel was committing genocide in Gaza and to order Israel to stop its military campaign in Gaza. The court instead issued a general order that Israel must make sure it prevents acts of genocide.
