Several governorates in Egypt started implementing measures to rationalize electricity consumption, under instructions received from the cabinet to improve energy consumption in public facilities. Governor Mostafa Alham stressed the importance of coordinating with concerned authorities to implement measures to rationalize electricity consumption in public facilities, schools, mosques, youth centers, all streets, squares and clubs, to achieve the goal of providing electricity. Adjusting to a time of global crisisIn Sharqiya, Governor Mamdouh Ghorab held a meeting with the head of the electricity sector in the governorate Essam al-Husseini to discuss ways to better rationalize electricity consumption in government buildings, public facilities, sports clubs, youth centers, covered halls, and stadiums that use scout lights, as well as reducing the lighting of main streets. The governor said that due to global crises Egypt requires concerted efforts towards implementing a package of urgent measures, to continue providing the best services to citizens. Ghorab issued his instructions to follow up the electricity consumption in all public facilities and government departments, and rationalize its consumption in implementation of the instructions of the Prime Minister, as well as the formation of committees in each service building, to follow up the procedures for achieving the state’s goals for energy rationalization.
