Egypt has signed three agreements that encompasses the supply of green fuel to ships, the production of green ammonia and a solar energy project using battery energy storage solutions (BESS). One of the projects involves a Norwegian renewable energy company. This is to generate 1GW of solar energy using energy storage solutions (BESS). The Egyptian government said the agreement signed between the government and SCATEC, which aims to generate 1GW of solar energy using battery energy storage solutions, is the first use of BESS energy storage technology in Egypt. Investment needed to grow green projects in EgyptIn 2022, the share of renewable energy sources in global energy supplies increased by about 8%.
