Egypt received a shipment of preventive medical supplies and coronavirus testers as a gift from China - Egypt TodayEgypt received a shipment of preventive medical supplies and coronavirus testers as a gift from China - Egypt TodayCAIRO – 16 April 2020: Minister of Health Hala Zayed announced Thursday that Egypt received a shipment of preventive medical supplies and coronavirus testers as a gift from China.Zayed said that the shipment comes as part of the deep and interdependent relations between both countries, and to enhance ways of cooperation to combat the spread of COVID-19.In the statement, Zayed thanked the Chinese government for the gift, stressing the strength of bilateral relations between both countries. She further praised the precautionary measures taken by China to protect its people according to the guidelines set by the World Health Organization, which greatly contributed to limiting the spread of the virus.The 4-ton shipment arrived at Cairo International Airport on Thursday, and was received by Chinese Ambassador to Cairo Liao Lichiang and Undersecretary of Health Ministry Mohamed Shawqy.It included 20,000 medical masks, 10,000 protective gowns and 10,000 DNA detectors for COVID-19.
