CAIRO – 3 August 2024: The Egyptian Cabinet's Media Center refuted claims circulating on social media about the government's plans to sell Egyptian airports to foreign entities. The Ministry of Civil Aviation emphasized that Egyptian airports are entirely state-owned and under Egyptian sovereignty. This strategy includes various infrastructure development projects, upgrading security systems, and modernizing all security devices at Egyptian airports. The ministry also noted its goal to offer the management and operation of airports to the private sector. This approach aligns with the state's policies to increase private sector participation in management and operations.
