Cairo-30 July 2021: Egypt men's handball team defeated Sweden 27-22 on Friday morning, booking a place in the quarter-finals of the Olympic Games for the first time since 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney. The Pharaohs dominated the game and outclassed their opponents to achieve Egypt's best ever victory over Sweden, the runner-up of 2021 World Cup. Egypt will take on Bahrain in the last game of the group stage, aiming for another victory in the competition to reach the quarter-finals as one of the top two teams of the group. After four games in the group, Egypt comes second with six points behind Denmark, who will face Portugal later on Friday. Tokyo Olympic Games is the 7th appearance for the Pharaohs.
