He emphasized the continuation of the tripartite mechanism of cooperation between Egypt, Cyprus, and Greece to maximize benefits in this unique threesome. Egypt had already taken significant steps in solidifying ties with Cyprus and Greece, which both have major disagreements with Turkey. He praised Sisi’s initiative to form the Eastern Mediterranean Gas Forum, which includes Egypt, Cyprus, Greece, Israel, Jordan, Italy, and Palestine.
