CAIRO – 5 July 2021: Egypt aims at vaccinating 40 percent of the Egyptian citizens by the end of 2021, Ambassador Nader Saad, Cabinet spokesman said Sunday. He added in statements that Egypt will start using the locally manufactured vaccines by the Egyptian Holding Company for Biological Products and Vaccines (VACSERA) starting August. In a press conference, Monday Egypt’s Prime Minster Mostafa Madbouly said, that Egypt has produced one million dose of Coronavirus vaccine manufactured by the Egyptian Holding Company for Biological Products and Vaccines (VACSERA). He added that Egypt’s daily production for COVID-19 vaccines currently is 300,000 doses, and that the government is discussing with China doubling the raw materials we import to raise the country’s daily production to 600,000 doses. The Health Ministry said Sunday night that 179 new coronavirus cases were detected, upping the total number of confirmed cases since the outbreak in the country began to 282,082.
