United States (US) President Donald Trump says he would like to bring together the leaders of Egypt and Ethiopia to work out a deal to solve a dispute over Ethiopia’s Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam. Egypt and Sudan consider the dispute a serious threat to vital water supplies. Trump made the comments while meeting with Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. On his Truth Social account, he says, “I am ready to restart US mediation between Egypt and Ethiopia to responsibly resolve the question of ‘The Nile Water Sharing’ once and for all.”
