Egypt’s imports from top 5 importing countries decline to US$2.4 bn in early 2021: CAPMAS


Egypt’s imports from its top five importing countries recorded a decline to about US$2.4 billion in early 2021, compared to US$2.6 billion in early 2020, a report by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics in Egypt said. Imports from Saudi Arabia recorded US$399.1 million in January 2021, compared to US$471.8 million the previous year. Imports from Russia increased to US$324.2 million during January 2021 compared to US$280.1 million in January 2020. Imports from Germany recorded US$309.4 million in January 2021 compared to US$356.2 million in January 2020. Egypt’s total exports to world countries reached US$27.5 billion during 2020 compared to $US30.5 billion in 2019, a decrease of US$2.9 billion, while imports decreased from US$76.3 billion to US$69.6 billion during the same period.
