Minister of Finance Mohammed Maait announced on Sunday that Egypt’s economic performance improved in 2018, adding that the government has exerted efforts to reduce unemployment rates. Maait added that they also discussed the results of meetings held between senior level officers in the AIIB and governmental officials in November in Cairo. Meanwhile, Liqun praised cooperation between the Egyptian government and the AIIB in the fields of sanitary drainage and solar energy, and anticipates extending cooperation into the infrastructure and industrial development sector.
