more-inThe Viswakudi tank in Veppanthattai block has been remaining dry due to total failure of monsoon in the last three months. It is only during this period that the tank realises maximum water which is used for irrigation. Built across the Kallar stream, the tank can store 30.67 million cubic feet of water. According to sources, a plan has been drafted to develop it as a tourism-attraction centre. As part of providing swift access to the tank, the PWD had taken up laying the road to a length of about 1.2 km from Annamangalam up to the tank.
