A woman is suing Toronto Blue Jays slugger Edwin Encarnacion for battery after allegations surfaced claiming the baseball player knowingly gave her sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). The woman, 24-year-old Ashley Lebron, claims to be a family friend of Encarnacion, 33, and is seeking $11.5 million US in damages. According to the court documents, the woman claims she had unprotected sex with Encarnacion at least twice during a trip to the Dominican Republic in February. Encarnacion later backed off his statements of being clean, according to the woman, and ended any contact with her shortly thereafter. The Blue Jays, currently tied for first in the MLB's East Division, have not commented on the allegations.
