KUALA LUMPUR: The Education Ministry has established a strategic cooperation with the police to curb disciplinary problems among schoolchildren nationwide. Deputy Education Minister Datuk Chong Sin Woon said this includes the appointment of police officers as School Liaison Officers and prevention programmes for students. Chong said these school liaison officers are tasked with monitoring and examining their students’ disciplinary development. “The officer is also responsible for holding discussions with the school management about students with disciplinary problems. Chong said the school liaison officers will conduct talks and exhibitions related to the prevention of crime and drug abuse, as well as road safety.
