The graffiti at the Al Rashid Mosque was reported Monday and the hate crimes and violent extremism unit is investigating, a police spokesperson said in an email to CBC News Tuesday. Pathan said he worries the Al Rashid Mosque, Canada's first mosque, is becoming a target for increased animosity.
