A city bus driver who struck and killed a 13-year-old girl in a marked crosswalk did stop and check under the bus for signs of impact before driving away, according to union officials. Police told media Sunday the bus did not stop after the collision, and that the driver struck the girl unknowingly. However, the Amalgamated Transit Union Local 569, which represents ETS drivers, said the driver told union officials she did stop. "She did stop the bus," president Steve Bradshaw said Monday in an interview with CBC Radio's Edmonton AM. (Supplied by Mohamed Smith)Saturday's crash is the second time a pedestrian has been killed by an ETS bus in less than two months.
