After 26 games this season, according to my video review of scoring chances against the Oilers, Eberle had made a major mistake on 23 Grade A scoring chances in 382 even strength minutes. So Eberle was leaking Grade A chances at two or three times the rate of other Oilers wingers. But no winger should make anywhere close to one such major mistake per game, the rate that Eberle was screwing up. In the 20 games since then, he’s made just four more major mistakes on Grade A chances against in 298 even-strength minutes. In his last six games, Eberle’s offensive game is also starting to come around.
