That’s how he was finally deployed last night and I strongly suspect it’s the right fit for both Lucic and the Oilers. That Oilers coach Todd McLellan had Puljujarvi on the ice with one minute to go in regulation time and the scored tied in the Jets game is an indication that the coach has found a level of trust in the player. I’m most relieved that when McLellan shook up the forward lines he stuck with the top line of McDavid, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Ty Rattie. By the way, Caggiula missed practice but I suspect he’ll be back with Draisaitl and Puljujarvi in Thursday’s game if he’s healthy. So, you see, I’m not completely onside with the Oilers coach today.
