Edmonton Oil Kings get extended break during WHL playoffs

The Edmonton Oil Kings have plenty of time on their hands after advancing to the Western Hockey League Eastern Conference final by sweeping the Calgary Hitmen. The Oil Kings will have over a week off before they begin their best-of-seven series with either the Saskatoon Blades or Prince Albert Raiders. The two East Division opponents are currently deadlocked 2-2 in their series with Game 5 in Prince Albert, Sask., on Friday. Both the Raiders and Blades finished with more points than the Oil Kings this season. “We’ll get together and kind of go through a plan,” said Oil Kings head coach Brad Lauer.
