Edmonton Oil Kings forward Jake Neighbours takes game to another level

The Edmonton Oil Kings were in jeopardy of losing to the Red Deer Rebels in the second half of a home-and-home series Saturday, and then Jake Neighbours took over. Neighbours scored to tie the game 2-2, then put the Oil Kings ahead 4-3 and capped off the first hat-trick of his WHL career to make it 5-3. Neighbours scored his second with an outstanding backhand shot on a rush off the right wing. The Oil Kings are looking to improve on that playoff run this year. “Our biggest message after Christmas that in the second half, it’s always tough games,” said Oil Kings head coach Brad Lauer.
