Long before Kawhi Leonard became the face of a nation playing in its first NBA finals, the Toronto Raptors star was leading the San Diego State University Aztecs into the Sweet 16 of March Madness. But you don’t need to remind Edmonton Eskimos offensive tackle Tommie Draheim, who played football at San Diego State when Leonard was on the court there paving his way to a first-round selection in the 2011 NBA draft. “We were there at the same time,” said Draheim, who incidentally, was born in Kennewick, Wash. — the same hometown as former Eskimos quarterback Mike Reilly — before moving to San Diego as a youngster. I’m happy for him and for San Diego State to have a kind of alumni like that.”Draheim spends his off-seasons in San Diego and routinely visits his alma mater. “It’s great,” Draheim said.
