Footage seen by Edinburgh Live appeared to show fireworks being set off and fires on the beach. ‌A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “An investigation is under way following reports of a disturbance involving several youths on Portobello Beach on Tuesday, 7 April, 2026. Additional patrols will be in the area over the coming days and anyone with concerns can approach these officers.”
