The Edendale Rugby Club was searching for more players and it prompted a thought from Karl Laurence. Laurence had attended Edendale Primary School in his youth and had also played for the Edendale club before he headed to James Hargest College. He did just that, and both Laurence and those at the Edendale club are glad he did. In 2009, he took on the role of keeping tabs on how many caps each of the Edendale players had played. On Saturday at Edendale, Laurence himself will be able to chalk his own name into the record books when Edendale takes on Riversdale in the Ack Soper Shield fixture.
