According to a report from Tarso Doria in September, and a second note from ESPN's Ariel Helwani on Saturday, the promotion is in advanced talks with former Bellator and UFC lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez. If ONE is able to ink Alvarez, it would be the biggest free-agent signing in the promotion's history. Alvarez has compiled a 29-6 record in his professional career and 23 of his wins have come by stoppage. Even if he loses, the third match between Aoki and Alvarez still has some appeal. If it is confirmed, expect an update and hopefully comment from Alvarez, ONE head man Chatri Sityodtong and more.
