With American Robert Anderson, Canadian Paul Teare, and Brit Stephen Venables, Webster made the first ascent of the Kangshung Face on Everest – considered one of the most challenging peaks in the range. During this expedition, Webster led the way with no food for four days while Venables became the first Briton to summit Everest without oxygen in 1988Webster was also an accomplished photographer. His work was featured in Rock & Ice, Rolling Stone, and the New York Times. He was the recipient of several coveted awards.
