LionsgateAs you probably know, Ed Skrein made news yesterday afternoon by dropping out of Lionsgate and Millennium’s Hellboy reboot. Ed Skrein both did the right thing and (altruistic motives notwithstanding) pulled an incredibly savvy PR play. Even if it doesn’t hurt the box office, whitewashing/racebending can hurt the media narrative and it clearly doesn’t help the box office. But Skrein did the right thing, presumably for the right reasons, and gave his profile a huge shot in the arm at the same time.
