Messers Sayeed Enterprise of Kanialkhata village under the Itakhola union of Nilphamari Sadar upazila is currently the only factory in the district mass producing the eco-blocks, said Md Abu Sayeed, owner of the factory. Nur Jamal and Manik Hossain, masons working in the factory have said the blocks are much more durable than clay bricks. Moreover, clay bricks are being made from topsoil, which reduces the fertility of earth. Dr Tobarok Ali, a resident of Araji Kanial Khata Dhanipara village in Nilphamari sadar has built his home with the concrete blocks. Md Mamunur Rashid, project coordinator of Nilphamari district ESDP, said: "Nilphamari Deputy Commissioner (DC) Md Hafizur Rahman Chowdhury inaugurated the official production of the blocks by Sayeed Enterprise in January 2020.
