SAN ANTONIO — Charlie Ebersol didn’t try to create an exact copy of the National Football League, nor did he intentionally construct an antithesis to the North American sporting world’s acknowledged behemoth. “What makes us different than all the other alternative leagues is how similar we are to the NFL,” said the co-founder of the Alliance of American Football. Ebersol believes improved NFL ratings would suggest there is no such thing as too much football, and he has concrete ideas of how to measure AAF success. “I want there to be crisp, real football to be played on Saturday. That would be the first time anyone has done that in alternative football so that would be a great place to start.
