Easyjet and Barratt reassure

Good morning. The budget airline Easyjet has insisted alongside its scheduled half-year update that it has “sufficient liquidity” to endure a lengthy grounding of aircraft. The company, which expects to report a half-year loss of between £360 million and £380 million, reported that bookings for winter were well ahead of the equivalent point last year. Johan Lundgren, Easyjet chief executive, said: “We remain focused on doing what is right for the company for its long-term health and to ensure we are in a good position to resume flying when the pandemic is over.”Easyjet has been one of the top ten FTSE 100 fallers this year, with shares down 52 per cent this year. We’ll have a story shortly from Robert Lea at thetimes.co.uk/business.
