This is particularly true for investors holding emerging market bonds priced in dollars. But not as good as the iShares Local Currency Emerging Market Bond (LEMB) fund, which is up 3.5% this year. Mexican debt in pesos yields 7.35% for 10 year debt; South Africa is 8.6% and Indonesia local currency debt is 7.4%. BlackRock was a big fan of Mexico local currency debt, but that window is closing fast and they are more neutral than overweight. For rates on emerging market bonds see here.
