The 6.1 magnitude quake hit east of the city of New Plymouth, around 220 miles from Auckland where Harry and Meghan are. New Zealand's GeoNet quake monitor said about 15,600 people felt the shaking, which most described as moderate or light. Harry and Meghan are currently in Auckland on New Zealand's north island, where there were no reports of shaking.
