A magnitude 2.6 earthquake was reported early Sunday morning, at 2:16 a.m., in Compton, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The earthquake occurred less than a mile from Long Beach, less than a mile from East Rancho Dominguez, one mile from Willowbrook and one mile from Carson.
