Early morning robbers hit McDonald's in Cambridge and HamiltonMARK TAYLOR/STUFF Police outside McDonald's after a previous robbery at the Rototuna restaurant. McDonald's staff at two Waikato restaurants were forced to hide in safe rooms and bathrooms after robbers struck on Friday. A short time later what's believed to be the same assailants again smashed their way into the McDonald's restaurant on Horsham Downs Rd in Rototuna. In August robbers armed with an axe stole cash and a worker's cellphone from the Rototuna restaurant early in the morning. And in July staff at a Greenwood St McDonald's hid in the freezer when robbers armed with crowbars smashed their way in.
