Police and Fire and Emergency New Zealandare investigating the cause of a house fire in Rosalind St, Stratford. Initial investigations into an early morning house fire, which destroyed a home in Stratford on Saturday morning, indicate it is not suspicious. A Fire and Emergency New Zealand media spokesperson said the single-storey dwelling at Rosalind St was “well-involved” when firefighters arrived just after 5.30am. At 9am on Saturday a fire investigator was at the scene to determine the cause, which was initially deemed as suspicious. But on Sunday morning a police media spokesperson said that was no longer the case.
