Firefighters were called to the burning house about 3.20am on Monday. An early morning fire that badly damaged a house near Westport is considered to be suspicious. Fire and Emergency shift manager Mau Barbara said emergency services were called to the blaze in Neighbours St, Waimangaroa about 3.20am. Three fire trucks and a water tanker were sent to the scene. The blaze was thought to be suspicious, and a fire investigator had been requested.
