Princess Elizabeth couldn’t come, because she was married by then and in Malta with her husband, Prince Philip. Later, however, I found out that his father, Jack, Earl Spencer, had told him not to marry me because I had Trefusis blood. My earliest memories of Princess Elizabeth and Princess Margaret come from when I was two or three years old.
