MANILA, Philippines — The European Union on Wednesday is ready to assist the Philippine government in its anti-illegal drug campaign. The EU chief pointed out the need for the government to help drug users so that they return to mainstream society. “Drug users — they have to be given hope that once they’re off drugs, they can have a life that is decent,” he said. He said that some of the drug users in their small-scale recovery centers work in a chicken farm. He is hopeful these drug users will realize the negative effects of drug dependency, get over them, and stop using drugs.
