The EU-Morocco joint parliamentary committee will hold its 10th annual meeting in Rabat on March 1st to look into the achievements made by this important body set up by Rabat and the European bloc to bolster their political cooperation and protect their geo-strategic interests. Co-chaired by MP Abderrahim Atmoun & MEP Ines Ayala Sender, the Morocco-EU joint parliamentary committee will also hold in Rabat a forum on security and fight against radicalism. The EU has extensive ties with Morocco in trade, political and security matters. The same year, 64.6 pc of Morocco’s exports went to the EU, and 56.5 pc of Morocco’s imports came from the EU. Two-way trade in services amounted to €8.8 billion in 2016 with EU imports of services representing €5.2 billion and exports €3.6 billion.
