The goal of these two structures co-financed by the European Union, as part of the “Airport Communication Project” (AIRCOP), then by Japan; is to fight against drug trafficking and other illegal activities in the above-mentioned airports. These figures inform on the scale of the various traffics in the airports in Cameroon. We can recall that in September last year, the French Customs officially announced a record seizure of 51 kg of methamphetamines at the Roissy Charles de Gaulle airport. This drug heading to Malaysia, as specified by the French customs officers, was hidden in boxes stuffed with plastic bags officially containing cereals from Yaoundé, the Cameroonian capital.
