CAIRO-29 July 2021: The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) issued a statement on Thursday announcing that the domestic league and cup matches, which was scheduled to start from 1 August will be postponed. The EFA statement added that the new schedule will be announced on Sunday, based on the result of Egypt's match against Brazil on Saturday in the quarter-finals. The EFA's decision followed the national team's success in the Olympic Games in Tokyo as the Pharaohs managed to secure a spot in the quarter-finals. The Pharaohs will face South American superpower and the defending champions Brazil on Saturday at Saitama Stadium. The winner of this clash will face the winner between Mexico and South Korea in the semi-finals.
