We have held elections without fail every five years, but do not seem near shedding the image of a deadly conflict. But, unfortunately, our elections have been reduced to tribal clashes that only erode the gains made before the time to choose new leaders comes. Tourism sector leaders and the key players deserve kudos for coming up with strategies to revive the industry, which are bearing fruit. Posting a 20.3 per cent growth last year, raking in Sh120 billion despite the election chaos, is commendable. However, we need to do a lot more work to enhance security in the tourist attractions and offer more incentives to boost international arrivals.
