KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 3): ECS ICT Bhd's net profit climbed 29.3% to RM6.15 million or 3.4 sen a share in the third financial quarter ending Dec 31, 2016 (3QFY16), from RM4.76 million or 2.6 sen a share a year ago, on higher gross profit, mainly from its enterprise systems segment. However, revenue fell 6.1% to RM436.91 million from RM465.11 million. In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, the integrated chemicals producer said its enterprise systems segment enjoyed higher sales of networking equipment, while its ICT business segment reported lower operating cost which increased its profit before tax (PBT). Revenue also declined by 9.59% to RM1.27 billion from RM 1.41 billion, as its ICT distribution and enterprise system businesses reported lower sales. ECS ICT's shares settled five sen or 3.29% lower at RM1.47 today, giving it a market capitalisation of RM264.6 million.
