The EC will pick the six seats through lottery in the presence of journalists at 5pm on Monday, Joint Secretary SM Asaduzzaman told bdnews24.com on Sunday. Chief Election Commissioner KM Nurul Huda, election commissioners Mahbub Talukder, Rafiqul Islam, Kabita Khanam and Shahadat Hossain Chowdhury will also attend the event. CEC Huda had said during the announcement of the polls schedule that the voting machines would be used on a limited scale in city constituencies. The EVMs will be used in city corporations and urban areas, EC Secretary Helal Uddin Ahmed had earlier said. The EC move to use the machines in six constituencies came amid strong opposition from many political groups, including the newly formed political alliance, Jatiya Oikya Front.
