Election Commissioner Brig Gen (retd) Shahadat Hossain Chowdhury has ordered to show zero tolerance for any kind of irregularities during the municipality polls in Rangamati’s Baghaichhari. The new Election Commission comprised of Chief Election Commissioner KM Nurul Huda and commissioners Mahbub Talukder, Rafiqul Islam, Kabita Khanam and Shahadat Hossain Chowdhury took oath on February 15. Rangamati DC Mohammad Manjarul Mannan, Returning Officer Nazimuddin, UNO Tajul Islam, OC Abul Kalam Chowdhury, heads of nine polling centres and members of different law enforcement agencies attended the meeting. The ballot boxes and other voting materials reached nine polling centres on Friday afternoon. Additional law enforcers will be deployed in all polling centres.
