Politics of Friday, 31 January 2020Source: 3news.comEC has worsened our position – OtokunorDeputy General Secretary of the NDC, Peter OtukunorDeputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Peter Boamah Otokunor says his party’s position on the move by the Electoral Commission, Ghana (EC) to compile a new voters’ register has been worsened after the IPAC meeting on Thursday. The EC at the instance of its Eminent Advisory Committee (EAC) called a meeting of the Interparty Advisory Committee over the decision to compile a new register for the 2020 elections. The EC made a renewed presentation to the parties in the presence of some civil society organisations (CSOs) and development partners. Speaking on 3FM’s Hot Edition on Thursday, Mr Otokunor said the EC could not convince the opposition parties about their reason for the new register. He observed that the NDC’s position rather got worsened after the meeting, calling the EC’s presentation “absurd”.
