PETALING JAYA: The Enforcement Agency Integrity Commission (EAIC) will carry out an investigation into the death of S. Bala Murugan, who died in police custody at the North Klang district police headquarters near here. Its chairman Datuk Yaacob Md Sam (pic) said in a statement on Thursday that the EAC had formed a task force under the provisions of Section 17 of the EAIC Act 2009 (Act 700) to carry out an investigation on the case. “EAIC views the incident very seriously following the death of a detainee in IPD Bera, Soh Kai Chiok on 18 January. It was reported that S. Bala Murugan, 44, from Kapar, died in police custody three days after being wrongfully arrested, his family claimed. He was arrested on Monday by police officers from the North Klang district police headquarters.
