The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission has recovered grabbed public land along Mombasa Road in Nairobi valued at Sh430 million. “Having analysed the evidence on record, the court is satisfied that the disputed land was a road reserve, which was illegally alienated by the lands officials. The court revokes the title, which was illegally issued to the developer, and orders that the land be reverted to the public,” ruled Komingoi. The land is situated at City Cabanas where there is the interchange of Mombasa Road and the Eastern Bypass. The court’s decision is a major win for the commission as it fights to repossess grabbed public lands across the country.
