KUALA LUMPUR: The Land Public Transport Commission (SPAD) has implemented measures proposed under the Taxi Industry Transformation Programme (TITP). We have been advised that this is expected to be concluded by the first quarter of 2017,” it said. SPAD said that once the amendments to the law are passed by Parliament, it will then implement and regulate the e-hailing system. As such, it is important to regulate Uber and Grab cars, to ensure there is no discrepancies between Uber, Grab and taxis. The Cabinet-approved TITP is geared towards regulating e-hailing services (Uber/Grab), while providing existing taxis new opportunities to remain sustainable and competitive.
