Previously, the maximum transaction limit was Tk2,00,000 a day for both individuals and institutions. A single transaction limit (person) was enhanced to Tk1,00,000 from Tk50,000 and the limit for institution to Tk2,00,000 from Tk50,000, as per BB notice. The revised transaction limit will be implemented from September 10, this year. Transactions through internet banking have increased amid coronavirus pandemic, prompting the BB to revise the transaction limit for IBFT through National Payment Switch Bangladesh (NPSB), says a high official of the BB. Currently, it caters interbank Automated Teller Machines (ATM), Point of Sales (POS) and Internet Banking Fund Transfer (IBFT) transactions while the Mobile Financial Services interoperability is under active consideration.
