The city should study its current ordinances to see what areas can be improved. It’s a good idea, but a major initiative like the DarkSky program would be too costly. It’s OK to revise standards for future growth, but retrofitting current lighting is needless. Light pollution is not a big deal in a city of Killeen’s size. It’s a worthwhile idea on the whole, but the benefits must outweigh the costs.
